TikTok is launching the TikTok Tech Immersion program to invest in Singapore’s tech talent.

The initiative aims to support 5,000 tertiary students over the next five years by providing them with in-depth academic and practical tech knowledge. Through the program, TikTok aims to equip these students with the skills needed to make them ready for careers in the tech industry.

Developed by the company’s engineers, TikTok Tech Immersion will focus on areas such as coding languages, tech architecture, server management, quality assurance, and site reliability.

The program’s first cohort, which consists of over 1,300 students, will run from May 15 to May 31.

“The company recognizes the importance of investing in the next generation of local talent that can meet the demands of the fast-growing tech industry,” TikTok said in a statement.
