Editorial policy
Our purpose is to make consequential ideas understandable and useful. We publish original explainers, analysis and source-linked briefs with a clear distinction between evidence and interpretation.
Sources and attribution
We prefer primary documents, public research, standards, official datasets and direct organizational announcements. Source links appear with articles. A source may support a factual background point while the surrounding assessment is our own analysis. A feed headline is a discovery lead, not a verified story.
Originality and rights
We write original copy. We do not reproduce paywalled reporting, invent quotations or present another publication’s work as our own. Photographs and illustrations carry credits where available. Generic images are identified as illustrative; they are not evidence of a particular event or product.
AI-assisted production
Our launch collection was developed with AI assistance for research organization, outlining and writing. AI systems can make mistakes. The workflow records source provenance and flags incomplete material. Future generated copy enters a draft queue and requires source verification before publication. We do not claim on-the-ground reporting or interviews where none occurred.
Dates, formats and uncertainty
Publication dates describe when FastCompanys published an article. They do not imply that the underlying research or document was released that day. Analysis and explainers are labeled. We avoid unsupported forecasts and identify hypothetical business examples as examples.
Corrections and independence
We correct substantive errors and explain material changes. Sources, advertisers and partners do not receive an undisclosed right to determine editorial conclusions. Sponsored content, if introduced, will be clearly labeled.
Use our corrections process to report an issue.
